Queen's Alumnus Appointed as Non-Executive Deputy Governor by Bank of Canada

The Bank of Canada recently appointed Nicolas Vincent, who received an MA in Economics from Queen's in 2000, as the first non-executive deputy governor. As stated in the Globe and Mail article from January 16th, 

"'I am delighted that Nicolas Vincent is joining the bank’s governing council,' Governor Tiff Macklem said in a statement. 'He is an accomplished scholar and teacher, with deep expertise in macro and microeconomic research in areas such as inflation and price dispersion, firm dynamics, inequality, house prices and household finance.'"

In addition to his MA, Nicolas has a PhD from Northwestern University and is a Professor of Economics at HEC Montréal.
