Olyvia Salek, Queens University, Honors BA Applied Economics and Business, April 2022
My aspiration is to become a Business Analyst/Program Manager leading initiatives in either the for-profit or non-profit industries. I will apply my experience working and studying in both Canada and the United States to be a creative and capable initiator. While attending high school, I worked summers at The Food Project, a local non-profit, where we grew, harvested, and distributed fresh food to Boston’s food deserts, and where I developed my ability to work with people from all backgrounds. Through this role, I became conscious of the overall food desert crisis and participated with non-profits working with the MA State Legislature committee to alleviate these issues.
I was the Director for this year’s Queens Economic Case Conference (QECC) bringing together senior students and business leaders from across Canada to discuss key business trends.
I grew up in the Boston area, the eldest of three girls, and am a dual citizen who understands the subtle cultural distinctions between the US and Canada and have played competitive sports all of my life.
I have a passion for people and making a difference. When not studying or working I can be found at the gym or relaxing with my 3 rescue dogs.
